A Purpose Statement
Deborah and I have been struggling to decide how best to share our adoption experiences with friends and family. As those who have visited our personal photos albums knows, we are reluctant to make all of our photos available on the open Web for security reasons. Yet our friends and family expect, and deserve, ready access to our experiences. And, frankly, we want to share and preserve our adoption experiences with Sydney and Emily as they grow up and become more readily able to understand the process.
So we've decided to create this blog, "Hocutt's Family Adoption." We'll use this to offer week by week and, in China, day by day, maybe even hour by hour, updates on what's happening. We'll post only a few photos to the blog; we'll post far more to the Hocutt Family File Share. We'll maintain and update our thorough photo albums on the Hocutt Family Web Site, but we may be a little slow to get them updated. And, after some reflection, we'll update our Hocutt Family Adoption Web site for those interested in the process - and wonderful results - of Chinese adoption.
Here's what it all means: the most recent updates will appear on this blog. Sometimes we'll make announcements by email, especially before traveling; while in China, however, the blog will be our sole means of updating friends and family about what's going on.
